A stationary diehead fitted with dual trip operating mechanism. For use on a wide range of machines, including automatics and CNC's. The diehead is opened by the standard pull-off action or can be tripped open externally by the plunger contacting an abutment on the machine, a feature which is essential when screwing short or fine threads in ductile materials. This mechanism can be set to eliminate any possibility of the diehead prematurely opening due to rapid machine indexing. The diehead incorporates both a spring cushioned shank and rest mechanism. This mechanism can be operated manually by a suitable abutment on the machine or by a suitable air cylinder assembly. Capable of cutting both parallel and taper threads.
